To All Of Our Supporters,

Alex’s Arcade would like to thank you for donating your time, efforts, monetarily, video games, and attending our events throughout 2016. It’s because of your generosity that we are able to help so many children and families cope with cancer. Each and every one of you took up our motto “ No child fights cancer alone, No family fights cancer alone...No one fights cancer alone”, and because of that we have been able to help 5 families directly to cope with cancer and donate more gaming systems to the oncology department at Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

  1. January 2016 1st “Roll Over Childhood Cancer” bowling event.
  2. In April 2016, we sent Kelly Jung (brain cancer survivor) and her family on our 1st “Dream Experience” to Opening Day for the Detroit Tigers.
  3. June 2016 with the help of the Vesco Oil Corporation and the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Michigan we were able to send a family to another Detroit Tigers game.
  4. September 2016 1st “Tee Off on Childhood Cancer” golf outing.
  5. December 2016, Alex’s Arcade made a donation of 8 gaming systems to the oncology department of Children’s Hospital of Michigan. The systems included Xbox’s and Classic Atari and Sega Genesis systems. This brings a total of 20 gaming systems donated to the hospital in just over a year's time. Each gaming system helps 50 kids a month escape and cope with their time in the infusion center.
  6. December 2016 Alex’s Arcade answered the call to help “Brighten the Holidays” for 3 families spread out across the country that have a child battling cancer.

Dylan in Flushing, NY, 4 years old, diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, we hope that his 5 week stay in the hospital for treatment is eased by his new video games and superhero action figures , and that they give him an escape from his time in the hospital.

Alexis in Nashville, TN, 12 years old diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma. We started following her story shortly after her diagnosis, we learned she is one courageous fighter that fights her battle with a smile on her face, even on the toughest days. That smile is inspiration to her friends and family and all of us that see it. On Wednesday December 14th, 2016 Alex's Arcade with Robert Ian Mullins and Kelly Howell Mullins representing our organization in Tennessee, visited with Alexis and her family, gave a few gifts of video games, made new friendships, and to let them know that we are all in on Alexis's fight together.

The Dixon Family in Warren, MI, daughter Sara, 11 years old diagnosed with DIPG. This was a special way of helping a family, it wasn’t just Alex’s Arcade, it wasa group effort of generosity lead by the New Day Foundation. We all came together to help support this family in a time of need, while the family was with Sara. The fight became to strong for Sara, she passed away before our help could arrive. No family fights alone...the family graciously accepted all of our support and gifts in memory of Sara.

There’s no greater feeling than knowing that we helped make a difference in a time of need to let a family know that they are not fighting alone.

We couldn’t do all these amazing things to help children and families cope with childhood cancers without you and your support of Alex’s Arcade. We are very grateful and fortunate to have such great supporters of our cause, charity and events. We have 2 annual events that we reach out to corporate sponsors, “Roll Over Childhood Cancer” bowling event and “Tee Off on Childhood Cancer” golf outing, and do they ever reach back out to Alex’s Arcade very generously with sponsorship and donations.

Thank you!

A special Thank You to Karen Drew and WDIV/Local 4 in Detroit for their story about Alex and Alex’s Arcade during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. It not only helped our organization but in turn helped children and families cope with cancer with the help of donations to Alex’s Arcade.

Every school day 46 children are diagnosed with cancer. 1 in 330 children will have the disease by age 20. As we continue to grow in 2017, our hope is to reach the lives of as many of these families as possible. With our volunteers and amazing people like you, we will be able to continue raising awareness about childhood cancer and continue our mission of helping children and their families cope with it.
